All is tem...None is eternal means all is temporal.
All is temporal means all had a beginning.
All had a beginning means all came into being.
All came into being means all came into being from non-being.

Being from non-being confuses the most basic distinction that can be made. That existing came from non-existing.

Since we know that not everything is temporal, then something can be eternal.
Now can matter be eternal?
A fundamental feature of matter is change. We need to consider in what manner matter changes.
Matter is not self-maintaining in general, in part, or as a whole. Matter is highly differentiated between hot and cold; hot and cold interact until they reach sameness. This process takes less than eternity, and would have already reached that point if it was eternal. As such:
If matter is eternal then it must be self-maintaining
Matter is not self-maintaining
Therefore, material is not eternal

Since material is not eternal, and something must be eternal, then only consciousness can be eternal.

If consciousness is eternal,
then it must be self-maintaining
If it is self-maintaining then it cannot change
If it cannot change, then it cannot get older.
Thus timeless consciousness can exist.
If it can exist and is eternal, then it must be conscious.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936435279424511988.post-62615876879331724172014-03-09T16:07:59.640-07:002014-03-09T16:07:59.640-07:00In what way is it a "non sequitur?"
